A new report from The Fraser Institute has highlighted the top secondary schools in Ontario, and it’s a good reminder of how much students gain from experiences outside the classroom. School trips give them space to step away from routine, try new things and build stronger connections with their peers. Teachers often see students return to class with more confidence and a clearer sense of belonging.
The top four ranked schools in the report — Thornhill’s St. Robert Catholic High School, Richmond Hill’s St. Theresa of Lisieux Catholic High School, Markham’s St. Augustine Catholic High School and Toronto’s St. Michael’s Choir School — have all chosen Muskoka Woods for their School Trips over the years. It is meaningful when high performing schools make room for these kinds of shared experiences, because it shows they value growth that happens through challenge and reflection, not only through academics.
We are grateful for every school that has spent time with us and for the chance to support learning that reaches beyond the classroom.
